Natural Resources
AKRF specializes in the assessment, preservation, and restoration of natural resources and local, state, and federal permitting and regulatory compliance.
Our team of scientists, ecologists, biologists, toxicologists, statisticians, analysts, and regulatory specialists recognizes the interrelationship of an ecosystem’s physical, chemical, and biological factors and balances project needs with conservation.
We support the full lifecycle of a project to satisfy National Environmental Policy Act requirements for federally funded transportation and infrastructure projects, as well as state and local regulations. We develop mitigation measures to alleviate or reduce significant adverse impacts to water quality and natural resources.
AKRF also contributes to the restoration and conservation of coastal, tidal, and forested wetlands as well as streams, marshes, oyster habitats, species, and more.
Our Services
AKRF has led natural resources consulting for offshore wind farms, bridge replacements, climate resilience infrastructure, and countless other projects.
Our professionals routinely collaborate with academic and research institutions on ecology conservation projects, scientific research, and white papers.
Examples include the implementation of habitat enhancement monitoring program for Hudson River Park in Manhattan and authoring a white paper on offshore wind structures and the North Atlantic Right Whale for American Clean Power.
