Our geotechnical engineering team has worked on projects of all scopes and sizes from single-use sites for schools and housing to major mixed-use developments.

AKRF specializes in subsurface explorations, foundation design, and construction recommendations, and conducts project-specific analyses for seismic design, finite-element modeling, and temporary support of excavation designs. We also prepare all necessary design documents, plans, and technical specifications for the geotechnical aspects of construction.

As projects are built, we review subcontractor submittals and perform Special Inspection oversight during foundation construction.

Our firm is registered as a Class 1 New York City Department of Buildings Special Inspection Agency for subgrade inspection, fill placement, and density testing; subsurface investigations; installation of deep foundations; installation of vertical masonry foundation elements; underpinning; and support of excavations.
