UBS Arena & Belmont Park
UBS Arena opened in 2021, a major milestone for the $1.3 billion redevelopment of Belmont Park on Long Island.
The project transforms surplus land at the prestigious horse racing facility into a new professional hockey arena for the New York Islanders and other cultural, community and recreational events, and hotel, retail, dining and entertainment uses. AKRF led preparation of the SEQRA Environmental Impact Statement, and we continue to provide environmental compliance monitoring for the project.
We also worked with Empire State Development and multiple local and state reviewing agencies to incorporate additional analyses of alternatives and mitigation measures, including a new Long Island Rail Road commuter rail station to serve the project and surrounding community.

Working with NYRA on Belmont Park Improvements
Under a separate contract, AKRF is providing SEQRA environmental planning services to the New York Racing Association for replacement of the grandstand and other facility improvements at Belmont Park on Long Island.
The new venue will feature a five-story structure designed by Populous rising above the 45-acre infield.
