The $117 million Tres Puentes Senior Apartments and Borinquen Court Senior Center opened in 2018 in the South Bronx.

AKRF provided civil engineering and site assessment/remediation services for the affordable and supportive housing development, which includes an 11-story building with 119 units and an 8-story building with 56 units. A portion of the units are set aside for households where at least one member has a serious mental illness.

The project also includes a new community health center and expanded space for the senior center, which remained operational during construction. Our work included overseeing implementation of the NYSDEC-approved Remedial Action Work Plan and Site Management Plan for the New York State Brownfield Cleanup Program.

Tres Puentes was developed by the West Side Federation for Senior and Supportive Housing and designed by Shakespeare Gordon Vlado Architects.
