The adaptive reuse of a former hat factory in Middletown brings 42 units of affordable housing to the community.

AKRF prepared a feasibility study to evaluate the potential of adaptively reusing all the historic buildings on the property; identified appropriate measures to mitigate adverse impacts to the property resulting from the demolition of the outbuildings; prepared the Section 106 Memorandum of Agreement; and prepared Historic American Buildings Survey documentation for the property.

We also prepared the Construction Protection Plan and collaborated with the MAP Architects to develop an interpretive display. Mill Street Partners developed the project.
