The New York State Public Service Commission approved construction of a 316 MW battery storage project at the Ravenswood Generating Station.

The project in Queens is expected to store enough electricity to power over 250,000 homes over an eight-hour period and represents the largest battery storage installation in New York State to date. The project will draw electricity from the grid during low demand periods, store it, and then release this energy back into the grid in accordance with NYISO and Con Edison dispatch requirements.

AKRF prepared a SEQRA Expanded Environmental Assessment as well as a New York City Local Waterfront Revitalization Plan Consistency Statement for the project. We also provided geotechnical engineering services.
