The City of Philadelphia received an EPA Brownfields Assessment Grant to revitalize priority brownfields across the city.

AKRF was retained by the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority to leverage the $300,000 grant to help achieve goals set forth by Philadelphia’s Housing Action Plan and Philadelphia 2035.

We helped to refine the Authority’s site development strategy and use the funds dedicated for hazardous substances and petroleum categories to conduct environmental site investigations, prepare reports, and participate in community outreach activities. Our responsibilities included grant management.

AKRF also supported the expansion of community gardens under this contract.
