Pendry Washington DC The Wharf
Parcel 8 was completed in 2023 as part of the extraordinary Wharf redevelopment in Washington, DC.
Designed by ODA Architects, Parcel 8 includes condominium and hotel uses, including the boutique Pendry Hotel with 131 guestrooms and suites and a top-floor restaurant and the Moonraker Bar with sweeping Potomac views. Isolation of the bar and restaurant from guestrooms below required a floating floor with careful coordination to achieve full sound isolation.
The condominium portion has 255 luxury residential units, a lively restaurant on the ground level, and the hotel ballroom, residential gym, pool, and spa.
Isolation of various residential and hotel functions from one another, as well as noise control for densely packed rooftop mechanical equipment, were some of the acoustic design challenges met by Houghton Associates prior to Ben joining AKRF.
