New York City Department of Design and Construction On-Call Geotechnical Services
AKRF has served as an on-call geotechnical engineering consultant to NYCDDC under consecutive agreements.
Our work, performed in joint venture with Mott MacDonald, has included subsurface explorations, geotechnical engineering design, and special inspections for the New York City Department of Design and Construction, the city’s primary capital construction project manager for new and renovated civic facilities and infrastructure.
We have contributed to nearly 100 task orders, including libraries, courthouses, and law enforcement facilities as well as open space projects addressing cloudburst design and green stormwater infrastructure. Assignments to date have included, among others, the Baisley Park Library in Queens; NYPD Firearms and Tactics Facility in the Bronx; Brownsville Houses Community Center in Brooklyn; and Staten Island Animal Shelter in Staten Island.
