Norwalk Traffic On-Call Services
AKRF has been retained by the City of Norwalk to provide traffic and transportation consulting since 2021.
Located on the Long Island Sound in Western Connecticut, Norwalk is a growing city of 91,000 residents and a multimodal transportation network featuring Metro-North Railroad service, Norwalk Transit District bus service, and vehicular access via I-95, U.S. Routes 1 and 7, and the Merritt Parkway.
Our consulting services include peer review services to address real estate development plans and the City’s Complete Streets initiative. We have also worked with the City and Connecticut Department of Transportation to facilitate the construction of an Adaptive Traffic Control System along U.S. Route 1; reviewed the proposed Over Height Detection System near the Washington Street Railroad Bridge; and reviewed proposed streetscape improvements in South Norwalk.
