New York City Climate Resiliency Design Guidelines
Capital projects in New York City face challenges resulting from a rapidly changing climate, including flooding, precipitation, and extreme heat.
The Climate Resiliency Design Guidelines developed by the Mayor’s Office of Climate and Environmental Justice provide instructions to address forward-looking climate data for use in the design of city facilities and apply to nearly all capital projects.
AKRF is working with the Mayor’s Office to lead implementation of the pilot program for these guidelines, and as they are phased into mandatory use, we are assisting city agencies and their consultants in interpreting and applying the guidelines and advising the city on potential updates and refinements to the guidelines based on lessons learned from the ongoing pilot projects.
