National Grid Brooklyn-Queens Interconnect
National Grid recently installed parallel 12- and 26-inch natural gas mains on the Rockaway Peninsula in Queens and Avenue U in Brooklyn.
AKRF prepared the environmental review materials for the new gas pipeline to reinforce existing natural gas transmission and distribution systems and provide for projected increases in energy demand.
Our analysis addressed land use, open space, cultural resources, hazardous materials, coastal zone consistency, construction, and natural resources. We also prepared maintenance and protection of traffic plans and coordinated with NYCDOT on the need for construction permits in the Marine Park section of Brooklyn.
