AKRF is providing water resources engineering to Maryland's Anne Arundel County for a pond and stream restoration.

We are leading multi-faceted solutions near the Millersville Post Office to manage severe erosion from stormwater runoff to restore a perennial Class IV tributary to Severn Run, conserve the state-listed threatened climbing fern (Lygodium palmatum), increase wetland area, and protect the Severn Run Natural Environment Area downstream.

AKRF has designed various environmental restoration solutions, including step-pool stormwater conveyance, wet pond retrofit, regenerative stormwater conveyance stream restoration, and wetland restoration.

Our data-driven approach also provides quantitative estimates of sediment load reductions attained through these stormwater solutions to help the County benchmark its progress towards achieving its TMDL wasteload allocations.
