The Willoughby & LIU Athletic Fields

A partnership of RXR Realty and Long Island University is leading a mixed-use redevelopment in Downtown Brooklyn.

The Willoughby at 196 Willoughby Street opened in 2022 among the core components of a public-private partnership to develop residential and institutional facilities on the Long Island University campus in Brooklyn.

The 33-story residential tower designed by Perkins Eastman contains 485 market-rate units with amenity areas atop a parking garage with first-floor offices, academic space, fitness and wellness facilities, and new rooftop athletic fields for the university.

AKRF provided civil, geotechnical, and environmental engineering along with acoustical consulting services for the project. We are currently providing civil, geotechnical, and environmental engineering for the new 29-story, 275-unit residential building at 85 DeKalb Avenue around the corner.
