La Central
La Central is an exciting new mixed-use development in the Melrose neighborhood of the Bronx.
AKRF prepared the project’s CEQR Environmental Assessment Statement and a targeted CEQR Environmental Impact Statement—led by Philip Habib & Associates prior to acquisition—and we have since provided civil engineering, air quality, site assessment and remediation, and acoustical/noise consulting services for La Central.

The project by Breaking Ground, BRP Companies, and The Hudson Companies includes five buildings totaling 1.1 million square feet of residential, retail, and community space and an open-air skate park. The development program includes 992 units of affordable, supportive, and mixed-income housing.
Building D at 626 Bergen Avenue opened in 2019 and Building A at 556 Bergen Avenue and Building B at 600 Bergen Avenue opened in 2021. La Central A and B earned a Buildings of Excellence Award from NYSERDA. Buildings C and E are currently in development.
