La Central is a mixed-use development in the Bronx with five buildings totaling 1.1 million square feet of residential, retail, and community space and an open-air skate park.

AKRF prepared air quality, noise, and construction impact analyses pursuant to City Environmental Quality Review requirements for the Environmental Assessment Statement, and has since provided civil engineering, air quality, site assessment/remediation, and acoustical/noise consulting services for La Central.

The development program includes 992 units of affordable, supportive, and mixed-income housing designed by FXCollaborative and developed by BRP and The Hudson Companies.

Building D at 626 Bergen Avenue opened in 2019 with 160 affordable and supportive housing units, and the 12-story Building A at 556 Bergen Avenue and 13-story Building B at 600 Bergen Avenue with 494 combined units of affordable housing and retail space opened in 2021. Building A also includes a new YMCA, while Building B includes a new BronxNet broadcast and production studio. La Central A and B earned a Buildings of Excellence Award from NYSERDA.

Two mixed-use buildings – Buildings C and E – are in development with affordable housing, community facilities, and an adjacent skate park.
