Jewish Theological Seminary Expansion
The Jewish Theological Seminary is undergoing a significant academic and residential expansion of its Morningside Heights campus in Manhattan.
Students moved into a new 144-bed residence hall in 2019, and other elements of the project are nearing completion. Designed by Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects, the full program includes an atrium, classrooms, a two-story library, and a 200-seat auditorium.
AKRF prepared the SEQRA Environmental Assessment Form and supplemental documentation; prepared a Construction Protection Plan; and performed construction monitoring for the expansion project. We also provided geotechnical engineering support for rock excavation up to approximately 30 feet below sidewalk elevation.
