The Inwood Rezoning was initiated to revitalize a 240-acre neighborhood in northern Manhattan.

Investments in the Inwood community will help create, preserve, and protect thousands of affordable homes as well as restore parks and build new community facilities.

In addition to the rezoning, the project included zoning text amendments, City Map amendments, Urban Development Action Area designation and Urban Development Action Area Project approval and disposition, disposition authority, and acquisition authority.

AKRF prepared the CEQR Environmental Impact Statement and Uniform Land Use Review Procedure application—led by Philip Habib & Associates prior to acquisition—on behalf of the New York City Economic Development Corporation.

We analyzed 73 sites for the expected development of more than 5,100 residential units, 1.4 million square feet of commercial space, and 540,000 square feet of community facility space.

The New York City Council approved the Inwood Rezoning and related land use actions in 2018.
