Downtown Manhattan Heliport Sustainable Delivery Hub

In 2023, New York City announced its plans to transform the Downtown Manhattan Heliport with infrastructure to support electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft and last-mile and maritime freight delivery.

AKRF prepared the CEQR Environmental Assessment Statement for the project, which will utilize marine vessels to transport pre-loaded zero-emission vehicles to a new floating barge landing to be installed on the north side of the heliport pier. A gangway will be connected to the pier and barge landing.

Downtown Skyport (a joint venture of Skyports and Groupe ADP) was named the new operator of the Downtown Manhattan Heliport in December 2024 following a Franchise and Concession Review Committee public hearing.
