citizenM Bowery Hotel
The citizenM Bowery Hotel opened in 2019 as the tallest modular-construction hotel in the country.
AKRF served as acoustical consultant for the 19-story, 300-room luxury hotel designed by Stephen B. Jacobs Group. Our work included modular unit partition and floor-ceiling assembly design for airborne and impact sound, guestroom HVAC systems, guestroom entry door acoustical design, room acoustics design input for the food and beverage spaces, MEP systems vibration isolation, an environmental noise survey, and façade acoustical design consulting.
We also provided acoustical support for the hotel’s Community Board approval process with an evaluation of the rooftop lounge acoustics and noise control recommendations.
