The design and construction of studios, theaters, and sound stages continues unabated in New York City and around the country.
AKRF has an extensive portfolio of planned, designed, and constructed sound stages for television, film, and streaming production; radio and television broadcast rooms; recording studios; theaters, auditoriums, and performing arts spaces; and private theaters.
Our projects employ many acoustical design considerations, such as acoustical separation from adjacent studios and nearby noise sources, low-noise ventilation systems, and careful control of reverberation for purposes of clear soundtrack.
Recent Milestones
A series of milestones in 2023 made it a banner year for our studio and sound stage practice. Construction began on Sunset Pier 94 Studios in Manhattan and East End Studios in Queens; Wildflower Studios celebrated the topping out of its construction in Queens; and environmental review was approved for the expansion of York Studios in the Bronx.
