Our traffic engineering practice specializes in the planning, design, and operation of modern and adaptive traffic control systems.

AKRF specializes in the planning, design, implementation, and monitoring of Adaptive Traffic Control Systems to help municipalities and transportation agencies adapt traffic signal timing based on real-time traffic demand.

We work closely with software vendors in preparing microsimulation models that emulate the logic of an adaptive controller in a virtual environment, providing an accurate representation of operating transportation conditions to determine where ATCS can provide operational benefits.

AKRF also provides clients with turnkey remote traffic management solutions through IT, design, and maintenance expertise in secure cloud-based system design and customer support.
