AKRF has an extensive portfolio of combined sewer overflow projects and their related National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permitting needs.

Our firm provides engineering and environmental services for combined sewer overflow infrastructure that discharges untreated or partially treated stormwater and wastewater into nearby waterbodies.

In New York City we have worked on CSO projects for the Gowanus Canal, Newtown Creek, and Flushing Bay, including feasibility studies, environmental review, and permitting.

We have also supported the Philadelphia Water Department’s “Green City, Clean Waters” program, Capital Region Water’s “City Beautiful H2O” program in Harrisburg, DC Water’s “Clean Rivers” program in Washington, DC, and similar programs throughout our footprint.
