Roads and streets may be challenging for municipalities to manage but opportunities for improvement can be found around every corner.

Local streets in New York City, New Rochelle, Harrisburg, and other cities, towns, and villages are undergoing a variety of improvements planned and designed by AKRF, including Complete Street multimodal accommodations, enhanced streetscape treatments, “shared street” strategies, Vision Zero safety improvements, and the implementation of green stormwater infrastructure.

We also provide the necessary environmental reviews and permitting to bring roadway and street projects to fruition. AKRF led sections of the approved NEPA Environmental Assessment for the Central Business District Tolling Program, aka congestion pricing, in New York City.
