Air Quality
The engineers, scientists, and meteorologists in our air quality practice routinely develop novel methodologies to address unique project conditions.
Our team specializes in the preparation of air quality analyses and documentation for local, state, and federal environmental review. We perform these studies pursuant to CEQR, SEQRA, and NEPA requirements, among other regulations like New Jersey Executive Order 215.
AKRF also conducts ambient air quality monitoring and prepares air permit applications and provide regulatory compliance support, working closely with private organizations to help them understand how changes in regulations affect their projects, plans, and facilities. We help government agencies develop air quality policies and analytical tools.
AKRF prepares greenhouse gas emissions inventories and climate change adaptation studies, and has experience demonstrating a project or facility’s consistency with New York City’s Local Law 97, New York State’s Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act, and The White House’s Justice40 Initiative.
Finally, AKRF performs energy modeling on behalf of building and property owners using eQUEST or other software to investigate potential reductions in a site’s energy use intensity—in many cases for Energy Star, LEED, or local code compliance.
Our Services
When it comes to air quality, livability is more than a buzzword.
Air quality assessments can help mitigate the impacts of development on disadvantaged communities while directing community benefits to the people most in need.
Our air quality projects have included offshore wind farms, battery energy storage systems, anaerobic digesters, and other clean, green, and renewable energy facilities, as well as a wide variety of transportation, water, and land development clients.
