Founded in 1981, AKRF is an award-winning consulting firm with 400 planners, engineers, designers, economists, ecologists, geologists, historians, archaeologists, acousticians, and many other types of professionals guided by the belief that to be original is to be transformative.

For us, original started in 1981, when we leapt into a category that was just finding its footing. We were full of ideas. Unbending in our belief that we had something new to say. And we quickly found ourselves shaping a story that continues to this day.

Establishing Our Brand
AKRF was founded in 1981 as a small start-up named Allee King Rosen & Fleming, and the corporate brand evolved with the times through its last refresh in 2003.
While our new voice and visual identity embodies who we are today, our values—creativity, excellence, service, openness—are founding principles that reflect the shop opened by Debbie, Steve, Jim, and Arnie over 40 years ago.
