AKRF has provided a wide range of planning and environmental consulting services in support of the Whitney Museum of American Art's museum’s long-term planning needs.

Our work has included transportation surveys, traffic counts, attendance projections, visual impact and shadow studies, economic benefit studies, and two CEQR Environmental Assessment Statements for proposed new facilities, including the new 220,000-square-foot Manhattan building that opened in 2015 on Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District. The new museum was designed by Renzo Piano.

We also prepared the Phase I environmental site assessment and several Phase II subsurface investigations and prepared and managed implementation of the Remedial Action Plan and its regulatory reporting requirements.
