The New York City Department of Design and Construction retained AKRF as part of a joint venture to serve as owner’s representative for infrastructure design-build projects.

The joint venture of AKRF and H&H helps NYCDDC prepare and manage Requests for Proposals; oversee the design-builder’s performance relative to quality, cost, and schedule; perform detailed reviews of design submittals and construction progress; and participate in stakeholder and community engagement meetings, among other services.

Assignments to date have included the design-build of pedestrian safety improvements along Lexington Avenue; precast porous concrete panels as right-of-way green infrastructure in Brooklyn; and complex pedestrian ramps in Queens and Staten Island.
