With demand for sound stages and studios at an all-time high, Netflix recently built a new production hub at 333 Johnson Street in Brooklyn.

AKRF served as acoustical consultant for the 200,000-square-foot facility with six sound stages and support spaces, including digital production rooms and an automated dialog replacement room. We first conducted environmental noise and vibration measurements to determine building façade airborne and structure-borne sound isolation requirements associated with the concrete mixing/chipping facility.

Our firm then modeled air handing unit ducted supply, return, break-out, and radiated noise to all acoustically sensitive spaces and provided noise control recommendations; provided a complete review of all design components impacting sound isolation; and provided design input on sound isolation and room acoustics features.
