The home improvement retailer Lowe's recently built a modern film production and broadcasting studio in North Carolina.

AKRF provided acoustical consulting services for the project in Mooresville, NC, at the company’s corporate headquarters. With the purpose of supporting Lowe’s internal communications and training, as well as social media content creation and DIY videos for their customers, this modern film production and broadcasting suite included two large studios, a tech core room, a production control room, and post-production edit bays.

Each of these spaces had rigorous acoustical criteria for their acoustical envelope, which had to be uniquely coordinated with a raised access floor design. AKRF provided noise control design for the HVAC system to meet the background noise criteria in each of the critical spaces. Room acoustics for the studios and edit bays was carefully designed to optimize the room response for their critical use.

Following substantial completion of construction, AKRF also performed an acoustical commissioning survey to ensure the project’s acoustical design was delivered successfully.
