The Hunts Point Wastewater Resource Recovery Facility has a drainage area covering 16,000 acres in the eastern section of the Bronx.

Working with Brown and Caldwell, AKRF first prepared the CEQR Environmental Impact Statement and two Uniform Land Use Review Procedure applications for changes to the existing plant, as well as three phases of future upgrades. We have since led CEQR environmental review for the design of new anaerobic digester facilities and waste gas flares and are currently leading environmental review for the next phase of construction at the facility.

Key analytical areas of our work over the years have included air quality, shadows, hazardous materials, land use, natural resources, and construction-related traffic, noise, and air quality.
