A new training academy on 17 acres in Orangeburg opened in 2018 for New York City Football Club.

AKRF prepared the SEQRA Environmental Assessment Form for the new campus and facility, designed by Rafael Vinoly Architects. The campus includes a 24,000-square-foot building, one and a half full-size soccer fields, a maintenance yard, parking improvements, and stormwater management.

We also provided civil and geotechnical engineering design in conjunction with a site development plan application for the project, including the preparation of site demolition, layout, grading, drainage, utility, erosion control, and landscape plans.

We also designed a stormwater detention basin and bioretention basin to satisfy New York State requirements for stormwater runoff mitigation and water quality and prepared a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan.

“Not only is this facility evidence of our deep investment in global soccer [but] it also shows our club’s and owners’ long-term commitment to New York City and the metropolitan area.”
