Clean energy storage is a vital commitment in New York City’s Green Economy Action Plan.

The planned development of a 100-megawatt energy storage system at the former Charles P. Poletti Power Plant in Astoria, Queens, was selected by Con Edison in response to its 2019 Bulk Storage Dispatch Rights Request for Proposals. AKRF is providing multi-media permitting, SEQRA documentation, and site assessment and remediation services for the project.

We have also coordinated with the client on transportation access planning and circulation strategies; prepared a detailed noise impact assessment to demonstrate compliance with New York City Noise Code and NYSDEC Noise Policy; and completed a New York City Waterfront Revitalization Plan consistency review. A SEQRA Negative Declaration and NYSPSC Section 68 Certificate were issued in 2021.
