Construction is underway on Abington Inclusive Park and Playground, a new community facility at Roychester Park in Pennsylvania’s Montgomery County.

AKRF worked with Studio Ludo on behalf of the Township of Abington in planning and design a universal playground that incorporates physical, cognitive, social, sensory, and communicative elements to enhance the play of children with different abilities and removes the barriers that often limit their experience.

The project included a site selection process where GIS data, field investigations, and community input were used to recommend the ultimate project site, and the schematic phase of the project included developing an iterative design approach informed by input from focus groups and public meetings.
