Brownfield Redevelopment
Integrated Approach
AKRF is a leader in today's brownfield redevelopment process.
Brownfield redevelopment is an opportunity to transform underutilized sites that have been contaminated by previous uses by implementing remediation and economic development plans. This approach allows these brownfields to achieve their highest-and-best use and spurs additional investment and development in underutilized areas.
AKRF's planners, remediation experts, economists, engineers, and landscape architects work together to identify sites. We develop remediation and redevelopment plans for local development corporations, not-for-profits, private developers, and government agencies. As part of our work, we incorporate the community's vision to ensure the beneficial reintegration of brownfield sites into the fabric of the surrounding area.
